اُردو کے پہلے صاحب دیوان شاعر ـ قلی قطب شاہ

اردو کے پہلے صاحب دیوان شاعر سلطنت قطب شاہی کے پانچویں سلطان، حیدر آباد دکن کے بانی محمد قلی قطب شاہ کا آج یوم وفات ہے۔ اردو کے پہلے صاحب دیوان شاعر، سلطنت قطب شاہی کے پانچویں سلطان، حیدرآباد دکن کے بانی محمد قلی قطب شاہ کا آج یوم وفات ہے۔ سلطان محمد قلی قطب شاہ والی گولکنڈہ سلطان قطب شاہ کے بیٹے تھے۔ قلی قطب شاہ کی پیدائش 4 اپریل 1565ء کو گولکنڈہ میں ہوئی۔ گولکنڈہ کے قطب شاہی خاندان نے 1505ء میں ایک خود مختار ریاست قائم کی اس خاندان کے 8 بادشاہوں میں سے آخری چار بادشاہ اردو زبان کے سرپرست ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ خود اردو کے بہت اچھے شاعر بھی تھے۔ قلی قطب شاہ اس خاندان کا پانچواں بادشاہ تھا جو 1580ء میں تخت نشین ہوا۔ ‎قلی قطب شاہ ایک قابل اور انصاف پسند بادشاہ ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ اردو زبان کے ایک عظیم صاحب دیوان شاعر بھی تھے۔ انہوں نے تقریباً 50 ہزار سے بھی زیادہ اشعار دکنی اردو زبان میں کہے ہیں۔ جن میں سے بیشتر اشعار کی زبان دکنی ہونے کی وجہ سے قدرے مشکل ہے۔ اردو زبان کے علاوہ قلی قطب شاہ نے تلگو زبان میں بھی بہت سارے اشعار کہے اور اپنا تخلص ترکمان رکھا تھا۔ ‎قلی قطب شاہ کا زمان...

Anjana sa khof zehn mn ubhrta hey
soch samjh kr jab insan bhtkta hey

ghup andherey hr su rang jamaye hue
kahin kahin ulfat ka deep chamkta hey

be insaf mueshat agey brhti hey
ghurbat ka zehreela naag machlta hey

aik raat duniya mn basr na ki hogi
suraj b insan k shr se drta hey

sach sazaye mot hey aaj tamadan mn
sacha hi kaanton se damn bhrta hey

apna aap na bechoon dolat k aagey
merey pas shakeel ye sacha rasta hey

English Translation



An unknown kind of fear rises in the mind,
When man, even after much thought, goes astray.

Pitch-dark shadows spread their hues all around,
Yet somewhere, the lamp of love still glows.

Unjust economies keep moving forward,
While poverty writhes like a poisonous serpent.

There will come a night when the world won’t survive,
Even the sun fears the evil of man.

Truth is punished with death in today’s civilization,
Only the truthful walk on paths filled with thorns.

I will never sell myself for wealth’s sake,
For me, Shakeel, this honest way is enough.
