Section 1

The speaker starts by affirming their unwavering faith in God's omnipotence. They acknowledge that there is no other
being as powerful and free from faults and errors as God. The speaker is convinced that God, being perfect, cannot
make mistakes.

Section 2

However, the speaker begins to express doubt, questioning why there seems to be a lack of basic human rights in the
incomplete destinies of countless suffering people. They find it perplexing that, despite God being the provider and
creator, many people are willing to compromise their honor and dignity just for a piece of bread.

Section 3

The speaker addresses God as the supreme deity above all false gods of the world. Yet, they observe that people are
compelled to bow down to these economic deities, offering bribes and recommendations in desperate attempts to secure
their livelihood. This submission has left their hearts and lips parched with longing.

Section 4

The speaker questions if God is unaware of the rebellious youth who, burdened by economic worries, end up making grave
mistakes and sometimes even resort to suicide. They remind God that every living being and every aspect of knowledge
and art is a manifestation of His will. Thus, the speaker pleads with God to bless these strong but idle bodies with
the gifts of life and fill them with the desire to live, asking God to dispel their doubts.

Summary of the Poem

In "نظم شک," Afzal Shakeel Sandhu navigates the paradox of faith and doubt. The poem starts with a declaration of faith in God's perfection and omnipotence but then transitions into a series of poignant questions about the suffering and injustices witnessed in the world. The speaker grapples with the apparent absence of basic human rights and the economic struggles that lead people to compromise their dignity. They reflect on the desperation that drives people to seek help from false economic gods, highlighting the disparity between divine providence and worldly hardships.
