hayat ruk nhi jati kisi k janey se

ye mast perr inhe kash koi samjhaye
sakoot e sham mn hotey nhi dewaney se

zoq e deed ki khwahish badn ko terpaye
ye dard km nhi hota bahar aney se

wafa ki raakh mn jalti hui chingari hayat
waqt miley to kabhi poochna zamaney se

khta hi apni thi ab cheekhna chilana kia
mana kia tha kai baar dil laganey se

azl se qatal kiye ja raha hey dushman e jaan

Life doesn’t come to a halt with anyone's departure.

Oh, if only someone could make these intoxicated ones understand,
In the silence of the evening, the madmen don't fade away.

The desire for sight torments the soul,
This pain doesn’t lessen just because it’s spring.

In the ashes of loyalty, a glowing spark of life,
If time permits, do ask the world someday.

It was a mere whisper of my own, why raise a shout now?
I had often restrained myself from seeking comfort.

Since the beginning, the enemy of life has been killing,
Stop the beloved Ishaq from spilling blood.

Shakeel, in the desert of time, you seek spring,
But your dreams are merely sweet words.
