کرا تھا بوجھ گھٹا آج مسکرانے سے
حیات رک نہیں جاتی کسی کے جانے سے
یہ مست پیڑ انہیں کاش کوئی سمجھائے
سکوتِ شام میں ہوتے نہیں دیوانے سے
ذوقِ دید کی خواہش بدن کو تڑپائے
یہ درد کم نہیں ہوتا بہار آنے سے
وفا کی راکھ میں جلتی ہوئی چنگاریٔ حیات
وقت ملے تو کبھی پوچھنا زمانے سے
خطا ہی اپنی تھی اب چیخنا چلانا کیا
منع کیا تھا کئی بار دل لگانے سے
ازل سے قتل کیے جا رہا ہے دشمنِ جاں
جنابِ عشق کو روکو لہو بہانے سے
شکیلؔ وقت کے صحرا میں ڈھونڈتے ہو بہار
تمہارے پاس ہیں سپنے فقط سہانے سے

یہ غزل انسانی زندگی کے ان گہرے اور پیچیدہ جذبات کی عکاسی کرتی ہے جو محبت، جدائی، ندامت اور وقت کے بے رحم بہاؤ سے جڑے ہوئے ہیں۔ شاعر نہایت سادہ مگر پراثر انداز میں یہ حقیقت بیان کرتا ہے کہ زندگی کسی ایک فرد کے جانے سے رک نہیں جاتی، بلکہ اپنے سفر کو جاری رکھتی ہے، چاہے دل کتنا ہی بوجھل کیوں نہ ہو۔
پہلے شعر میں مسکرانے کو ایک ایسا عمل دکھایا گیا ہے جو دل کے بوجھ کو وقتی طور پر کم کر دیتا ہے، مگر ساتھ ہی یہ حقیقت بھی واضح کی گئی ہے کہ زندگی کا نظام کسی ایک شخص کے جانے سے متاثر ہو کر رک نہیں جاتا۔ یہی وہ کڑوا سچ ہے جسے انسان ماننے سے گریز کرتا ہے مگر وقت اسے تسلیم کرنے پر مجبور کر دیتا ہے۔
دوسرے اور تیسرے اشعار میں شاعر نے فطرت اور انسانی خواہشات کو بڑی خوبصورتی سے یکجا کیا ہے۔ مست پیڑوں کا ذکر دراصل ان لوگوں کی علامت ہے جو ظاہری خوشیوں میں مگن رہتے ہیں، جبکہ سکوتِ شام میں دل کی تنہائی اور خاموشی اپنے عروج پر ہوتی ہے۔ اسی طرح دیدار کی خواہش ایک ایسا درد ہے جو کبھی کم نہیں ہوتا، چاہے بہار ہی کیوں نہ آ جائے۔
چوتھے شعر میں وفا کی راکھ میں چھپی چنگاری ایک گہرا استعارہ ہے، جو اس بات کی طرف اشارہ کرتا ہے کہ محبت ختم ہونے کے بعد بھی اس کی حرارت کہیں نہ کہیں باقی رہتی ہے۔ یہ چنگاری وقت کے کسی بھی موڑ پر دوبارہ بھڑک سکتی ہے، اور انسان کو ماضی کی یادوں میں لے جا سکتی ہے۔
