کوشش سدا مَیں کرتا رہا، ہار نہ مانی
دل تو غمِ حیات سے لرزاں رہا مگر
پھر بھی مَیں سیدھا چلتا رہا، ہار نہ مانی
جتنی رکاوٹیں بھی میرے سامنے آئیں
ایک ایک سے مَیں لڑتا رہا، ہار نہ مانی
اس عارضی جہاں میں پل کی خبر نہیں
صدیوں کا پانی بھرتا رہا، ہار نہ مانی
ترکِ تعلقات پہ غمگین سا تو ہوں
اس بات سے مُکر تا رہا، ہار نہ مانی
یہ انتظارِ شب ہے یا صدیوں کا انتظار

I always tried my best and never gave up.
My heart trembled under the sorrows of life,
Yet I kept walking straight, and never gave up.
Every obstacle that stood before me,
I confronted each one and never gave up.
In this temporary world where not even a moment is certain,
I kept collecting the patience of centuries and never gave up.
Though I am saddened by the severed relationships,
I never denied the truth, and never gave up.
Is this the waiting of a night or the wait of centuries?
