آآنکھیں بچپن کی شاعری: ایک ابتدائی تخلیق

تعارف

یہ نظم شاعر کے اس دور کی یادگار ہے جب انہوں نے ابھی باقاعدہ طور پر اپنا تخلص "شکیل" بھی اختیار نہیں کیا تھا۔ یہ تخلیق نہ صرف ایک معصوم ذہن کی عکاسی کرتی ہے بلکہ اس میں وہ گہرائی بھی موجود ہے جو بعد میں ایک پختہ شاعر کی پہچان بنتی ہے۔ اس شاعری میں محبت، محرومی، اور سماجی رویوں کے اثرات کو نہایت سادہ مگر مؤثر انداز میں بیان کیا گیا ہے، جو اس بات کا ثبوت ہے کہ شاعر کے اندر تخلیقی صلاحیت شروع ہی سے موجود تھی۔

نظم آنکھیں

بلند و بام دریچوں سے جھانکتی آنکھیں
دل فگار کو آباد کر کے کیا لیں گی
کسی کو اپنا بنانے کی نقرئی یاسیں
سکون شہر کو برباد کر کے کیا لیں گی

رہی نہ شہر خموشاں میں بھی خاموشی
چراغ دل اور دنیا ہنوز بے ہوشی
جو اعتبار نہیں ہے ہمیں محبت پر
نحیف دل کو وہ فرہاد کر کے کیا لیں گی

ہر ایک چیز بھلی ہے نگار خانے کی
مراد ہے انہیں دولت بھرے زمانے کی
پھنسا ہی لیتے ہیں مغرور جال بینش میں
غریب شخص کو ناشاد کر کے کیا لیں گی

نہ دیکھ افضل بےذوق تم تو ناداں ہو
ابتدا کوچ ہے کوچے سے جس پہ شاداں ہو
ہماری گنگ زبانوں سے بند کانوں سے
رگوں کو خون سے آزاد کر کے کیا لیں گی

لبوں کے تار زمانے پہ مسکرانے لگے
پرانے دن مجھے آج یاد آنے لگے
خموش و سرخ اشکوں سے بھیگتی آنکھیں
قرارِ دل ہمیں پرساد کر کے کیا لیں گی

English Translation of “Aankhen”

Eyes peeping through lofty walls and windows,
What will they gain by rebuilding a wounded heart?
These silvery hopes of making someone their own—
What will they gain by destroying the peace of a city?

Silence no longer remains even in the city of silence,
The heart’s lamp flickers while the world stays unconscious,
When there is no faith left in love,
What will they gain by turning a fragile heart into Farhad?

Everything in the gallery of beauty seems pleasing,
Yet their desire is for an age filled with wealth,
The arrogant always trap others in the net of perception—
What will they gain by leaving the poor in sorrow?

Do not look, O Afzal, you are still naïve and unaware,
This joy is but the beginning of a departure from the street,
From our mute tongues and deaf ears,
What will they gain by draining blood from our veins?

Smiles begin to appear upon the strings of lips,
Old days start returning to memory,
Eyes soaked in silent, crimson tears—
What will they gain by offering false comfort to the heart?
