یوں عمر ہو تمام تمنا نہیں رہی
ساقی اٹھاؤ جام تمنا نہیں رہی
دنیائے رفتنی کے ادھورے خیال و خواب
الجھے پڑے ہیں کام تمنا نہیں رہی
راہوں میں قمقموں کی بدولت ہو روشنی
یہ حسن اہتمام تمنا نہیں رہی
جی چاہتا ہے جسم کا بت توڑ پھوڑ دوں
بت کو کہاں دوام تمنا نہیں رہی
جانے دو اب نا کر میرے دل کو تسلیاں
اے عشقِ نا تمام تمنا نہیں رہی
سوز طلب،آہ سرد، شام بے کسی
میرے رہیں غلام تمنا نہیں رہی
پہلو میں دل کے درد کی کلیاں کھلی رہیں
یاروں سے ہو کلام تمنا نہیں رہی
شوریدہ سر جہاں میں خیالات زندگی
اتنے بلند و بام تمنا نہیں رہی

یہ خوبصورت غزل انسانی زندگی میں خواہشات کے زوال، دل کی تھکن اور جذباتی بے نیازی کی عکاسی کرتی ہے۔ شاعر نے بڑی سادگی مگر گہرائی کے ساتھ اس احساس کو بیان کیا ہے کہ جب انسان کی تمنائیں دم توڑنے لگتی ہیں تو زندگی کے رنگ بھی ماند پڑ جاتے ہیں۔
غزل کے اشعار میں داخلی کرب، ادھورے خواب، اور دنیا سے بے رغبتی کا ایک ایسا منظر پیش کیا گیا ہے جو ہر حساس دل کو چھو جاتا ہے۔ "تمنا نہیں رہی" کی تکرار پوری غزل کو ایک مضبوط ردیف فراہم کرتی ہے جو اس کے مرکزی خیال کو مزید طاقت دیتی ہے۔

Description of the Ghazal
