میں اپنے رب کے قریب ہوں
مجھے جو مِلا
میری محنتوں کا صلہ نہ تھا
وہ کرم تھا رب کریم کا
جو نہ مل سکا
اُس میں بھی رب کی رضامندی تھی
شب و روز کے سبھی سلسلے
سبھی واہمے
میرے رتجگوں سے مکالمے

میری زندگی کا نصیب ہیں
مگر رنجشیں تو مہیب ہیں
اور رب کی ساری رحمتیں
میرے کس قدر قریب ہیں

I have no complaint against anyone,
For I am close to my Lord.

Whatever I received
Was not a verdict of fate —
It was a blessing from my Gracious Lord,
A mercy that came to completion.

In it, too, was His consent.
All the turns of night and day,
All the prayers —
Each was destined.

My meetings with sorrow and grief
Are a part of my life’s destiny.
Repeated joys are but gifts,
And all the mercies of my Lord
Lie close to my fate.
